In asphalt plants, dryer gas, hot aggregate dust, the screen/mixer area, and filler transfer generate high temperatures and wear. The baghouse, cyclone, ID fan, hot-gas expansion joint, filter bag/cage, and filler conveying system are selected together.

The filter housing, fan, ductwork, filter element, pulse-jet system and discharge/conveying equipment are not independent of one another; they are evaluated as components of the same operating point.
